Jessica Biel

Jessica Claire Biel was born in March 3, 1982 in Ely, Minnesota, USA. She is a Hollywood actress and model. She is noted for his role as Mary Camden long-running family-drama series 7th Heaven. She also appeared in several movies including feature films, including Summer Catch, the remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Illusionist. As a child she had a nomadic life and she lived in several places but she loves to call Boulder, Colorado her home.

Jessica was born in an adventure loving active family. Her father’s name is Jonathan Edward Biel and her mother is Kimberly Conroe. She has a younger brother Justin. She grew up in Boulder. As a young girl, she took dance lessons, gymnastics, and voice lessons. She was one of the most active children around and she tried all sort of things but ultimately she realized that acting career was the one meant for her.

TJessica performed in many musicals across the country, but nothing major sprouted from these opportunities, until she was 11 years old, and attended the 1994 International Modeling and Talent Association (IMTA) convention in Los Angeles. Biel performed exceptionally well at this convention, and earned a scholarship to the Young Actor's Space, which is one of the premiere acting schools in the country. Biel spent the next three years auditioning for various TV shows and commercials, and at the age of 14, all of her hard work paid off, as she landed the role of Mary Camden, on TV drama, 7th Heaven.

She made her movie and 7th heaven series debut in the same week. Her first movie was ulee’s gold in which she played Casey Jackson. She signed another movie in the very next year called I'll Be Home for Christmas.

During her teenage days, she spent most of her time in the set of 7th heaven and she is very close to each and every artist in the series and she often refers them as her second family.

In year 200 Biel posed topless in a layout of Gear magazine. This became a controversy because she was only seventeen at that time. She blamed her saintly image on 7th Heaven for limiting her film career, including losing a lead role in American Beauty, which eventually went to Thora Birch. She later confessed that posing topless for the magazine was something really unwanted and that she regards it as a learning experience.


Biel decided to depart from 7th Heaven, in 2001, wanting to focus more on her movie career, and remove her "saintly image" that she claims was created by 7th Heaven. And after that she focused more on movies and she wanted to lose her saintly image. During this period she signed several movies like Summer Catch (2001), The Rules of Attraction (2002), Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003), Blade: Trinity (2004), and Stealth (2005). Biel was also rumored to be up for the part of Elizabeth in The Fog (a part originated by scream queen Jamie Lee Curtis). Later reports stated Biel did not want to do any more horror films. The part eventually went to Maggie Grace of Lost.

Although most of her movies faired well at the box office, her performance wasn’t good enough to capture critical acclamation. In 200 she joined Tufts University and studied there for one year. After one year she left the university to shoot the 6th season of the 7th heaven. She still dreams about returning to the school and completing her study.

Recently Esquire Magazine named her ‘the sexiest women alive’. She has also been ranked number 98 on VH1's list of Hottest Hotties, and number 99 in Stuff Magazine's 102 Sexiest Women in the World. Besides acting, her hobbies include ballet, soccer, yoga, and hiking. She is a former vegetarian, and an active member of PETA.

She recently acted in the movie ‘Home of the Brave’. It is a story about soldiers who fought in Iraq. And her upcoming movies are ‘Next’ in which she co-stars Nicolas Cage and Julianne Moore, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry with Adam Sandler and ‘A Woman of No Importance’.

On July 18, 2006, Biel auctioned herself for a charity event to help raise money for medical expenses for Colorado teen Molly Bloom, who lost her leg and part of her pelvis in an auto accident. The winning bid in this auction was $30,000 paid by 28-year-old John Schiffner who won a lunch date with Jessica.

In 2007 she ranked number 5 in Maxim's Hot 100 for 2007. This year she also won the Palm Springs International Film Festival 2007 Gala Rising-star Award.
